Just bought a 2009 fx4 screw. At lower speed, when unloaded it shifts hard and every once in a while it will shift without needed to. I test drove 3 others before purchasing this one. All of them acted the same way. With a load, it shifts fine. Now that I'm reading around this site I see some tranny problems. is what I'm experiencing normal?

 

normal, no, very very common yes... ford still has no "fix" according to my dealership but there are two tsb one is a pcm reprogram and one is a drive shaft regrease. see if your dealer can help you at all.
