Question clunking and screaching

My 04' 150 sounds like crap between 2nd and 3rd gear. all gears seem a bit delayed when shifting. Gotta keep on the gas or it shifts down quickly, almost nuetrals. Think this could just be a bad torque conv? If so, Anyone here replace the converter themselves? Is it difficult or should i leave it to a professional? Any input and opinions would be appreciated.

sounds like you need a fluid filter change - drop a pint of brake fluid into it and drive for an hour before you do it - it (brake fluid) will help clean your system of excess gunk
