so i bought this 94 f150 4x4 13in overall lift with 38in nittos, well i noticed that the transsmission (e40d) sometimes takes a minute to get into gear, especially when im on a slight incline... any ideas on what it might be ???

 

did you check the fluid level & condition?

 

provided the fluid isn't low... with that much lift, 38s and a 15 year old transmission i'd start leaning toward the trans being shot.

 

yea everything checked out fine, im thinking the trans must be shot, possibly a bad tourqe converter... any ideas what might be a better trans for this truck? besides the E40d

 

Get the E4OD rebuilt and beefed and it will be fine. It's a strong tranny.
