Tranny flush ?

I am gonna drop my truck off at Ford dealer to have them service the tranny. What can I put a piece of electrical tape on to verify the flush is performed? I believe they hook up to the tranny cooler correct?

Please let me know.

I don't see a reason for them not to do the job. It's a lot easier for them to hook up the machine and do it than do it any other way. If you distrust the dealer that much, find a different dealer or go have a quick lube joint do it so you can watch them standing right outside the bay.

Im gonna drop it off and let them look at my AC also. I dont distrust them I just want to make sure it gets done.

Can you just answer my original questions? Where are they going to hook into it so I can put some electrical tapes on the lines?

Dude quite worrying about if I trust my dealer or not and just answer my simple original question. Is it really that hard? All I am looking for is "they hook up in the front my tranny cooler"

Come on guys.

Find another dealer. If you get an invoice that says THEY did it AND when at what miles...its their *** if they don't. At my dealer you can stand at the parts counter and see the whole service shop through glass. Hell TELL them you want to watch.

I don't know where they hook up for flush. If its an exchange I would assume they go in the dipstick tube.

Hey man sorry. I dropped it off and watch them connect up to it with the machine. Looks like where the tranny oil cooler is.

OP has a valid point.....

I asked for a new filters and fluids when I bought my FX4 back in 2006. Truck had 37,750 on it. This was to INCLUDE a new trans filter. Hard to see but the top 5 items have the ditto marks to state that everything was changed together...

Well the dealer claimed they did it but looky what I found when I dropped the pan today after dropping the pan myself to change the filter. Now why would they put that back in there?? Busted...

Do Ford dealers do a fluid exchange or a fluid flush? Does anyone know?

The hooked into it on the big radiator. It looks like the trans fluid flows thru both a small raditor in front as well as the big engine raditor. Does this sound correct?

I am almost CERTAIN that even a dealership wouldn't make that kind of mistake, open your rad cap, any pink or dark foam in there, if there isn't I'm sure your eyes fooled you while they did the service.
If there is.......I'm pretty sure you can figure out the rest.

if you had problems seeing the obvious answer in there, losing your cool ain't gonna make anyone answer it, cause from what I have read above....you DO have an attitude problem.

OK MR 12 posts you need to know what your talking about alittle more. The trans fluid flows from the tranny to the big radiator to the small additional tranny radiator.

And dont tell me I have a attitude problem I dont one bit I have been on these forums for a long time. I was looking for a simple answer and they guys were turning it into " if you dont trust your dealer go somewhere else" I just want to know where they hook up to do a flush!!!

You reading this may sound like i was mad, but i was really not just trying to get a straight simple answer.

They hook it into a place in the lines that they feel is easy to reach and disconnect. There is no one place where it would be done.

Thumbs up

At my local Ford dealer,if you ask to watch the tech work they have no problem with it.All they ask is that you remain silent and not disturb the tech.If you have a question then direct it to the service mgr. or your service advisor.I have become very good friends with my whole Ford dealership service department and I trust them enough to where I don't even have to question anything they do to my truck!I do ask the techs questions, afterwards,on how I can improve anything to help my truck run better or to keep it maintained better and naturally their advice is very appreciated!
