WOT shift sound

Hey guys when i smash it to the floor and it shifts wide open it makes a weird high pitch noise inbetween goin from 1-2. The only mods to it are on my edge i have the shift firmness turned up and thats about it. Is this a bad omen of things to come, do i need to turn the firmness off on my edge? Thanks

Is it more of a squeak/squeal or a whistle?

I agree, it's most likely the serpentine belt. Upgrade to a Goodyear Gatorback and the noise will probably go away.

I have had the same problem with a high pitch noiise, I hope that it is the belt, but it really sounds like it's coming from the trans, the sound is very similar to a twin screw whine at WOT. Are we saying this is still a belt noise?

The belt noise is a loud shriek when it grabs the next gear, caused by the engine rev between gears. It is loud and short and coming from the front. Your's may be something different.
