85 f150 1990 aod

Talking 85 f150 1990 aod

Well heres the deal took a 90 aod thow a rebuilt in to it
shifts 1- sweet but noe 2-3 shift 3-4
Yes tv is set right fulid is topped off (took it to a shop and hade them ck tv just in case) they took it for a test drive said take it out and bring to them to fix(truck feels like it is shifting when I let off gas but as soon as I step on the gas its 2nd gear ( it will coast down hill at 50 miles a hour and no wineing from the motor
so this makes me thing its something that may be fox with the pan off and vb out
so does anyone have any ids on this thanks

Same thing happened to me with a Taurus with an AXOD, it had a burned planetary assembly. Something ain't right with your rebuild.

Ok droped the pan found stuff in there after looking and thinking abouth what it may have been
wife says it looks like what is left of #2 or 3 or 4 needle bearings(oh lucky me)and she is right took one from the old tranny and yeap thats what it is. Found a few of the needles in the pan
pulling motor and trans out (again and both well because I may not put it back togather and the motor is fresh)what we think happen is one of them was put in backwards or in the wrong place (like a 3 where a 4 should have been)not sure if it matters on how it goes in one side is flat and outer side has open neeldes
any way thanks will let ya know in the A.M. after we have it apart
