magnet

so im changing the fluid in my 01 today and im putting up tools and whats still sitting on the bench ? THE MAGNET ! i had taken it out while cleaning the pan. how long would you run without it in there ? truck has 60,000 on it.

I agree with glc, I wouldn't worry about it. Wait until the next time you change the fluid and put it back.

You could always put it on the outside of the pan, and it will still have the same magnetic effect inside the pan.

yeah i thought about that and wondered if it would work ok.

If you can get it to stay on the outside of the pan somehow, that's fine too.

It should work just fine with the magnet on the outside. FilterMag sells a magnet that goes on the outside of the pan.
