Transfer case leak?? HELP?
Look again to see if it is coming from the extension housing or the drain between the t-case and the tranny or the fill or drain plugs. The seal in the transmission has been known to leak and fill the space between the tranny and the t-case. They then leak through the drain.
EDIT Just so we are clear, the drain between the t-case and the tranny is where the transmission fluid comes out. Not the t-case drain plug or fill plug. They sometimes leag if improperly installed.

Transmission fluid leak
I too have noticed a slight transmission fluid leak coming from my truck. At first I thought it may have been leaking from the transfer case itself, but when I crawled up and looked closer it appeared to be starting from a hose that connects from the transmission to the transfer case.
I'm fairly ignorant as to how these things operate, but I didn't know if the transfer case shared fluid from the tranny. If so, I'm guessing it happens when I use the 4x4 - which I did one day last week during a heavy rain on the way home.
The truck seems to be running fine otherwise, but I didn't know what to expect as far as repair costs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
