Body Lift owners - Can I do this?

97-03 4x4 owners who have installed a body lift. I ahve searched and searched but cannot find what I want.

I don't want to re-index my torsion bars. I have cranked them and I am very happy with that.

I don't want a suspension lift as these are too costly and often require a new set of wheels with "medium" offset.

I don't want a 3" body lift as the truck will look hinky with stock 265-70/17's on it.

What I do want is a 2" body lift.

Sooooo, here is my question. Can I get a 3" and cut the blocks down?

Ring in with any and all insight please.

No sir.. dont do that. They are mold injected for strength. Cutting them down would take away from their integrity. Just get 2" blocks. Oh and just so you know. Your truck will look way more "hinky" with your rear bumper being 2" lower (because the 2" kit dont lift the bumper also) than it ever would with 265s on it. Thats just my 2 cents.

agreed id say just get the 3" because it may look funny to you for now but youll regret it when you go to get new tires and such. and its only one inch

i think everyone nailed it.

get the 3" body lift. you probably can sell the tires and buy a set of 33-35" used tires for cheap enough.

Thank you all.... good advice. Was not aware that there is a 2" lift and that the rear bumper did not get the treatment.

What did not get conveyed above was that I only want to run 33" tires for about 2-3 months a year, the rest of the time running stock. Reason being is the difference in power. I have raced an identical truck as mine with 33's on and pulled him when I was stock and he had a Gryphon on custom tune. That was enough to show me that I want to keep stock size tires most of the time and want 33's when I go hunting.

If I put a 3" lift on, that pretty much constrains me to run at least 285/70's all the time. I am not sure I want that.

Man slap some 4:10s on there and youll smoke him with 33s. Not to mention that the your truck will feel really light and be pretty quick with stock tires.
