im not a total nube.. And i got it from a seller i found on ebay, i know what your thinking... but he seems pretty trustworthy... and the 3 year warrenty helps.. lol
i do have a question tho... do i need to break it in? like 1000 miles or something... and should i change the fluid after the break-in?
I might be thinking of another item but does the new ecu need to be programed to match the computer? I thought I seen that on here somewhere but it could be a brain fart
but I must say looks like a great deal

they make aresol cans that flush the whole cooler system, shouldnt need to replace any of them unless the old trans has massive amounts of metal in the fluid.
Dont forget it may take a while at first to fill the converter at first, so dont panic if it wont come out of park immediately We usually try to get atleast 2q in the converter before we hang it on the car, not sure what size you have, but that way the converter isnt completely dry on startup...

thanks for all the imput, and i got a new tranny cooler that way i wouldnt really have to worry about flushing the lines, looks like i might have my ducks in a row on this one! Now what about break-in... havent heard anything on that yet
If the paper work, install instructions do not say anything about breakin procedure, then I would have suggested to call the rebuilder. You said you were going to do that, so very good. If you get it installed before you can get a hold of the reman, just take it easy and watch the fluid levels very carefully.
Unfortunately there is no way to tell the long term reputation of any ebay seller based off of the ebay feedback system. All you get is the initial impression of the buyer. Which, in the transmission world, can often change dramatically after 60 days. By chance while doing your research of this ebay vendor did you call the better business bureau that is local to them?
Now don't take this as me saying you made a bad purchase because I have no real idea what you have there. It might be an awesome deal. The price is fair for what it is alluded to contain. The torque converter, going by the box, appears to be a common reman of the stock high stall converter that can be gotten for around $125 plus a core. Can you post up a picture of it by itself with the engine side showing?
The transmission sounds similar to a mild rebuild that might sell for something like $800 plus shipping outright with no core. Including that converter, that would put you at somewhere near $925 plus shipping, which is hardly ever over $200 most anywhere in the US. All you would have do for that one is provide a return on a torque converter or pay a core charge of perhaps say $50 and you would be done. That would be from an established and well known performance transmission builder with an awesome reputation who stands behind their product.
The things about this specific transmission that concern me are these.
Their ad says they use things "such as". Such as means that they may or may not use any of that stuff or they may use all of it. The words "such as" preclude any possibility of going after them for false claims.
Alto clutches absolutely terrify me.
To demonstrate what I am saying, what does your "Electronic Control Unit *No Laptop Needed" look like? Can you show us it please?
Also, can you find any feedback from this seller that is past 60 days from the sale? If not, how do you have any way to know the long term satisfaction of the buyers or how the seller actually handles any warranty claims? Actually, what are the specifics of their warranty exactly? What do they claim to do and what do they require of you in the event of a warranty claim?
Statements like the following from their ad are really disconcerting.
"Converter stall speed is the maximum RPM that the engine can obtain at full throttle with the transmission in gear and the BRAKES LOCKED!!" No, sorry, that is not at all how you determine stall speed by any means.
"Stall speeds above 2500 RPM result in high fluid temperatures, causing transmission problems." Anyone familiar with transmissions knows, this is simply not true as the statement reads there.
"SHOULD I GO THROUGH THE RADIATOR COOLER, ALSO? NO!" Really? Ask Mark Kovalsky about that one, LOL.
"Transmission fluid temperature MUST NOT EXCEED 200 degrees!" Again, simply not true as stated. At the exit of the transmission before the fluid enters the cooler it is pretty common to see fluid tepmeratures over 200 degrees when the converter is unlocked and working hard. 200 degrees in the pan isn't good for sure though.
"WHAT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID SHOULD I USE? Any brand of Dextron or Mercon fluid. DO NOT use Type F fluid." That one is 1/3 correct. Don't use Type F
I about busted a gut over this one trying to explain how overdrive works.
"For example, .95 to 1 means that, in overdrive, the input shaft turns .95 hundredths of a turn and the output shaft turns one complete turn." Uh... What??? Read that again if you don't understand why it's so funny.
The bottom line is that I know what the parts for these transmissions cost and there is no way on God's grean Earth that you could get half of the "such as" list for that price.
I would honestly love to get my hands on one of these and take it apart to see what is really inside.

I know all that sounds harsh. Sorry for that and I do hope that my initial impressions are wrong and that you got a heck of a deal on an awesome product. I meant to share my observations and got a little carried away.
So, before any of us go praising or damning anything, it might be best to get the thing in the truck and test it out for at least a good solid month or so and see what happens. If it is what it claims you should be able to drive it like you stole it and be in great shape.
So that I can feel better about myself now that I feel like I peed in your cheerios, I am going to give you some real constructive advice.
There is no break in period on a transmision and you need to use Mercon V or a full synthetic transmission fluid. No need to change it out after a short interval on the initial fill either.
I do honestly wish you the best with this. Please come back with an I told you so for me. I will gladly take that over the alternative any day.

Oh my God!!!
That came from tranzparts!
I had to threaten to sue them over the garbage they sent me. Scott is who my salesman was there and they have the gall to still keep calling me trying to sell me parts. They keep changing their name on ebay over all of these issues. So here is another name to add to the more than dozen that I know of so far. They are nothing but a scam, period. You can call any transmission parts supplier and hear stories. They have a LONG history of sending out painted used transmissions as rebuilt.
This isn't looking good at all. I am very sorry.
