Tranny Fluid in xsfer case ????01 supercrew

had oil change done today and they stated that my xsfer case was grossly overful, and that my tranny was low by 2qts. My question is : is there a seal between the 2 components and that the tranny fluid could be xsferred??? If so approx. if anyone knows how much$$$ am I looking at to get repaired???
Thanks in advance for help.

Sho is.

Lookin' at a few hours of labor to drop the transfer case to get to the seal.

the transfer case is bolted directly onto the transmission. the seal between them has failed, and the only way to replace it is to pull the transfer case.

in order to do so, the front and rear driveshafts have to come off, obviously. the torsion bar crossmember needs to be dropped as well. the exhaust crossover will probably have to be unbolted. i'm unsure of what else has to come off, but you get the idea...

hell, just had to pull the transmission on a 4wd chevy and replace it twice. the second time took about 4 hours total in and out and that includes beer breaks.
