also when Replacing my clutch do I need a new flywheel or what is involved in resurfacing it

I am thinking about just getting the cheaper one to hold me over until I do the replacment of my engine to a 5.4 when I will need a better clutch and transmission

Your choice for what you want to pay, but for the flywheel, just unbolt and drop off at the local machine shop for about 30 bucks.

Has anyone used the Centerforce clutches in our trucks? They say pedal effort stays about the same so they should play nice with the slave cylinder i guess. Just something I've always wondered about.

For clamping force the Centerforce offers a better clutch kit. I have gone through 5 transmissions so far and at least as many, if not more, clutches. I've had an Exedy clutch in it since last summer. So far so good. I spun the center of a LUK clutch before this one. How is your transmission holding up so far? As far as what clutch to get? If you plan on upgrading in the future get the cheaper one. No sense wasting money on a good clutch just to replace it.
The flywheel needs to be resurfaced. Find a shop that will grind it not turn it on a lathe. While you have the tranny off the truck pick up a new slave cylinder. It should look like this.

I went ahead and got the cheaper one and I bought a new fly wheel(I had to take it back because I forgot to check it when I picked it up and they gave me a 6 bolt flywheel and I needed an 8 bolt) and I bought a new slave cylinder too and the new one looks like the one you posted but the one I pulled out looked slightly different(ie no sleeve around the cylinder) and I am also replacing the hydraulic clutch line.
