Procedure for tansmission filter change

Hi, I have 2007 F-150 2WD 4.2 V6 long bed, 50K miles. Does anyone have a (or have a link to a reputable) step-by-step procedure for changing the transmission filter and fluid for this vehicle?

FWIW, I have a chilton book for my previous truck, a 2002 F150, exact same vehicle configuration.

Many thanks in advance!

Just unbolt the pan, drop it, and change the filter. Not much more you need to know except for the part number of the filter. But if you go to your dealer's parts counter, they'll sell you the right filter. Keep in mind that the gasket is suppose to be re-used, so you don't have to buy a new one. But now is a good time for you to upgrade to a Mag-Hytec or equivalent pan. Look for a deeper pan, with cooling fins, a magnetic drain plug, & a deep sump filter to go with it. Then you can drain the pan fluid as often as you want, without having to drop the pan. I usually do it about once a year to ensure that I have a fairly fresh mix of fluid in my tranny.
