thats 4 times what you need. Just grab you a cooler from pepboys for 50 or 60 bucks

do you have the tow package? You might already have an external trans cooler

The cooler you keep your tranny the longer it will last.As long as you install it properly( witch means just putting it in the loop and not bypassing the radiator)It will always come up to a good operating temp.

Yes, there is too cool for a tranny, contrary to what a lot of people seem to think.

Ford did testing themselves and the data they collected showed that a tranny operated around 160 ~ 180 degrees had the best life span.

That is why it is better to have an external cooler on the output side of the tranny and leave the original radiator plumbing connected.

I believe one of the Ford tranny experts that used to frequent this site posted it, but it was several years ago.

If you really want to extend your tranny life, get a valve body and a decent cooler. Change the fluid and filter at the prescribed intervals.

The trans is also most efficient at 170-190F, so you get better fuel economy if the trans isn't too cool.
