4r70e vs the 4r75e

4r70e vs the 4r75e

whats the difference im trying to order parts for my 4r75e and was wondering if the 4r70e and the 4r75e parts are interchangable or what

Well, like the 4R70W's and 75W's (in Panthers, Mustangs and lots of other Fords) most parts are interchangeable, but all the numbers mean are torque difference. Other differences include the planetary ring gear was revised, front pump is much more efficient, small spring changes etc.

If you have a 4R75 then get parts for a 4R75. There are enough differences that getting older stuff may cause you trouble. Definitely don't change out the reverse sun shell or the ring gear with anything other than from a 4R75.
