Transmission - hesitated shift between 1st and 2nd

I have a 98 f-150 4x4 ext cab 4.6L with and automatic tranny...sometimes it seems as if it stalls in no mans land when shifting between 1st and 2nd ...and when it finally does shift in to 2nd it shifts hard? I checked the tranny fluid regularly and find that theres no leak and its always full and right on...It doesn't do it all the time, but its regularly enough to be concerning....any idea what I can do to make it stop? thanks guys..

My 01 supercrew with a 5.4 does the same thing, it doesn't get any worse but it's always been like that for me. One guy on here had the same symptoms on his 00 harley davidson, his ended up being a $10 broken spring in the 1-2 accumulator, this excited me so I drained the tq converter and dropped the pan for an oil and filterchange and checked my spring and mine was OK.

I was going to suggest a broken 1-2 accumulator spring as well.
