Can I force lockup?
Can I force lockup?
I've heard that there is an after market product that will allow me to force the tranny into lockup at the flip of a switch.
Here's the issue: I had the 4r70 transmission rebuilt with a slightly higher slip torque converter. I've since learned that this was not wise since I often tow a fairly heavy travel trailer in mountainous terrain. My tranny temps climb dangerously high now even with an addition huge cooler.
Thoughts?

Yes, you can do that. I don't like the idea, but I can see how it would maybe be of benefit to you in your situation.
What the products do is turn on the TCC through a switch. Only catch is that you need to remember to turn it back off.
Have you thought about getting a tune to tow with that locks the converter up a lot more often?

I'm currently in the throws of completing my tuning process that started over a year ago with Mike T. I'm also supercharged, if that makes a difference.
I'll ask him about that, but he was the one that suggested I look into a switch.
So... If there is such a product, what and where would I find it?
