How old is the fluid? Trans shudder often is caused by worn out ATF. A complete flush will often eliminate trans shudder. If the trans shudders for a long time the torque converter will be damaged and the trans has to come out to replace it.

Shudder fix

My 97 F150 had shudder problem at 50 MPH. Was advised to change trans. fluid and drain Torq Converter. That was at about 60 K miles. Worked great. Have over 100K now. It probably didn't help that I pulled a 5K lb. Camper.
