My 2005 SCREW does not engage the 4wheel drive when I turn the ****??? Is this a common problem or am I looking at a spendy fix???

mine did the same thing on vacation last year, ended up calling the service department where i bought my truck and they walked me through a few things (closest dealer was 3 hours away) turned out the connector on the back of the **** wasn't fully seated, once i seated it to the switch it worked perfectly

 

Did you check .And make sure there is not a blown fuse in the fuse panel? That would be the first thing i would check....Good Luck

 

You could take a hammer and lightly tap on the shft motor on your transfer case and see if it will engage then. If it does then replace your shift motor.
