adding a Cooler, fluid, and extra filter

I just picked up a nice shiney '01 Expedition with a 4.6 and 4R70W. Since I'm going to use t to tow my 4200lb boat, I need to add a cooler to it (no factory tow package or cooler, ps cooler only).

The local Advance has an Imperial 243012 stacked plate cooler, 3/4"x11 5/8"x9 1/2", "up to class A and towing 10,000lbs", 3/8 push-on fittings.

Is this a decent unit/fit for the Expy?

I also found Valvoline Mercon V full Synthetic locally for $3.19/qt, and will of cource drop the pan, drain the converter, and change the filter + 14 qts new fluid.

Should I also add on an extra spin-on filter like this? http://www.jegs.com/i/Perma-Cool/771/10678/10002/-1

Overkill is usually my strategy....

How difficult is it to install the cooler in the trans lines? Can I use fittings n the radiator to avoit cutting factory lines?

Where did you find the Valvoline at that price? I just paid $4.67 per qt. at the local Car Quest and that was with my work discount.

Excellent! That's 1/2 price of Mobil 1 and 1/3 the price of Amsoil!
