Thanks subs1000w for the ebuild link. I'll check it out to see if I can hack it myself. If its too complicated and risky, I'll take the top cover and the shift forks to a tranny shop (somewhere) and ask them to replace the forks for me.

JMC, the pin that dropped is solid with rounded or tapered ends. They don't look like the lock pins for the rails or forks at all...

Drove the truck around town today and so far still good with all gears.

 

Did you ever figure out what that pin was for, I had the same thing happen to mine lastnight and had no place to find the missing pin. I also have my transmission now that was stuck in the first gear but the shifter was almost to the dash, I removed the ransmission, and the top cover re aligned the forks but when I put it back together the trans will go into 1st and 2nd but cant get 3rd any other gear. any ideas?
