Hi on my 97 f150 4.6 4x4 I have been having a bad shifting problem.It started with the od light flashing over 60 and then stated to shift terrible sometimes when i let off the peddle it will shift back then back to o/d sometimes a couple times and also sometimes when accelerating it will rev up as if I put it in neutral for a second and pull it back into drive.took it to the dealer changed fluid and filter scanned it replaced the speed sensor still same problem.Any help is very appreciated Thanks.

 

The flashing OD light means a code was stored in the PCM that tells what's wrong. Without the code all anyone can do is guess.

 

Yeah I know I just thought someone else might have went through the same thing.I read alot about the plastic gear on the speed sensor stripping or coming lose does a new speed sensor come with this gear or should i check this before I head back to the dealer.

 

First step is get the code read.
