Trans cooler air dam?
Trans cooler air dam?
Hey guys. I recently installed a PA system and two Hella driving lights behind my grille. To install these, I had to remove this piece:

I know its the air dam to the trans cooler but I don't tdo much towing other than a little flatbed every once and a while and the studs that held it on were dry-rotted and broke apart when I gently tugged on them. Well I'm doing a major move (1,000 miles with a 2,100 lb camper) for my 4.2L and I don't want to risk any chance to overheat my trannie. Will this being off pose and overheating problem or will it be a minute difference with it on? I'd like to evenutally re-attach it but I do not have the studs and I'm afraid to go to Ford and have them charge me $300 or something crazy like that.
Thanks in advance for the advise.

Okay, I need to pick up a few things at AutoZone anyway. I need new plugs, injector cleaner for my next tank, front pads, 100W H3 bulbs for my fog lights, and then those plastic clips before my trip (leave April 12). Sounds good. Anyone think it might pose a overheat problem just in case I don't put it on (just wondering)?
Haha, I knew someone was going to comment the Harley. Got it for $8300 with only 22K miles. It's a '91 FLHTC.
