Not sure if this is tranny related or not:

Im having a bit of a shudder problem on my truck at the moment. Its a 2004 FX4 regular cab F-150.
Its real light and its only from a dead stop, and goes away after you get moving. It doesnt seem like a motor issue as it is not shuddering at any other speed, at idel, when revving, etc.

I cant determine if its a transmission or a drive train problem though. Its almost feels like wheel hop. Anyone else run into this issue? I havent done much except make sure all bolts are tight, but I will do a transmission flush tonight and lube some stuff up and see if that helps it out any.
I searched and it doesnt sound quite like any of the issues that are on here... Doesnt sound like the TQ problem since its only from a stop and completely goes away at all speeds while moving.

i and many others have the same problem. it called a slip yoke in the drive line. gives a thump when take off. kinda feels like the back end drops. you should just have to grease it.

if your truck is lifted it could be drive line angle.
and also it could be your limited slip giving you some vibes but you would feel it most when you turned slowly

Its more of a vibration than if the slip yoke was poping.

Im almost certin after playing with it some more that its the clutch pack in the rear. It doesnt really feel like anything else.. Its not a sudden popping, or a constant thing like a torque converter would be, its just under initial acceleration and maybe a bit when cornering.

What do you guys think a shop would charge to do it? I HATE doing rear end work.. Id rather pull a motor than mess with those little clearances and shimming it.. uhhg.

I thought my shudder was the LS packs too, turned out to be the u-joints.

Could be clutch packs if you're going around a corner. If it does it in a straight line it's probably the rear pinion angle. There is/was a tsb for it on regular cabs only I think. Ford made a tapered shim kit to fix it.
