engine / Tranny mounting problems

engine / Tranny mounting problems

dropped in my newly rebuilt 4.6 and have problems mounting to the bell housing

when she is bolted to the bell housing she does not want to turn over (wrench or starter) seem to me the torque converter is binding up for some reason a removed all 4 bolts and trying to get some play out of the torque converter but no luck this is with the bell housing flush to the engine?? whats going on???? ive mounted it 6 times all same promblem


help please!!!!!

The torque converter is not seated correctly on the shafts. It needs to drop down four times to get all of the shafts correctly mated to the torque converter.

ill give it a another try think i need to completley pull the engine away again or just bring it a part a inch or so and wiggle it up there?

You need to spin the torque converter while pushing it towards the transmission. I don't think you can do that with the engine an inch away from the trans.

thank you for the help you where right on and im back on track on finshing my truck cant wait to get her runing again
