Fix or Sell?

04 Lariet 4x4, not sure exactly what tranny I have but I know the torque converter does not have a drain plug. It is shifting through all the gears just fine, my problem is when I take my foot completely off the gas pedal to coast then reapply gas the tranny will jerk or pop, you can hear it and feel it . It started out doing this every few weeks but now its daily. I know trannys are expensive to work on and rebuild, even to diagnose. Does this sound like a serious problem? I cant afford much to fix it. Should I just sell my truck, thats what Im considering doing right now. I did a self tranny service a few weeks ago, fluid was burnt bad but not much metal on the magnet. THanks for any advice.

Are you sure you refilled it enough? You might know this but when checking the fluid needs to be at operating temp and the truck needs to be running and on level ground.

If you did that then I would take it to a transmission shop instead of the dealer. Your problem probably isn't going to require a new transmission and in that case you could just get it fixed and move on. Usually the process of selling and buying another car, especially new will mean a loss no matter what.
