99 f-`50 tranny fluid change

I was taking the pan off my truck this morning, when the pan came down, it a white plastic piece in the pan that i don't believe needs to be in there, the part # on the part i believe is k-351-3, it has a gasket around, so i believe it belongs somewhere, but looked everywhere & couldn't find where it belonged, any ideas ?

your pan has never been dropped before, if you see the white plastic plug. Don't worry about it.

I think it's a seal for the dipstick tube and gets pushed into the pan after assembly when they install the dipstick. If I'm wrong about that, either way it's junk. Don't worry about it and throw it away...it doesn't go to anything.

That's exactly what it is. It's a plug for the dipstick tube so crap can't get in the trans on the assembly line. When they install the dipstick tube on the line, the plug gets pushed into the pan. EVERY Ford has it. Just toss it.......or keep it for sentimental reasons .
