Add me to the list......

4.2 liter 5spd manual, slave cylinder just went out at 53k. I seem to be one among the masses here. I replaced it at work earlier in the day and am back up and running just fine. I found that the tranny did not have to come out all the way, and that My truck will probably never again feel like new. The clutch is light, and is bled to no sputtering. If anything, it's a signal to save up for a new truck in 2009

Anyways, what a horshat design, and am wondering if I should have just kicked out the doe to get a master kit as well.

i agree the ford internal slaves are very problematic they should have stuck to the external design atleast when they go out they would have been much easier to change

Try bleeding it bottom up.

Big azz syringe, short length of clear tubing, fill syringe and tube (burp out any air), suck reservoir dry, attach syringe to bleeder, open bleeder, and push fluid up to reservoir.
