4r70W and ADOE

Is the 4R70W the same as an AODE transmission? I am asking because I want to purchase the manuals I have found online for my impending transmission rebuild.

From a standpoint for looking at it to rebuild they are almost identical.

The biggest differences are the gearset in the AODE has the same ratios as the AOD and the extension housing is set up for a smaller diameter yoke than the 4R70W.

Thanks Darrin

Thanks for the info. I did find a rebuild manual for the 4r70w and a master rebuild kit. I am trying to decide if I will endeavor to do it myself.
I will let everyone know!
