Why the deeper pan , fluid heating up ? I was thinking about that at one time until I flushed the Mercon and refilled with Amsoil - Big difference in temps - like night and day.

When running Mercon , I would check the fluid after a long run and the stick was so hot you couldn't touch it lol. With Amsoil , the dipstick is actually cool to the touch. That sold me. That's some good sh^t!!

A larger pan will help even more, but do you really need it?

Theres another thread started on adding a pan, in case you didn't see it -

The oem 4x4 pan with a drain plug is deeper than the 2wd models. Factory Tech has the part number on his site.

Yea , I think that's the one I was looking at , I almost ordered a trans from them at one time - their E4OD build. They offer a nice valve body too. I didn't end up needing one. I was able ti fix mine.. Yea, good stuff over at factory tech.
