gear selector indicator failed

gear selector indicator failed

I have a 2003 ford f350 superduty crew cab 4x4 pickup .. the gear selector indicator failed completely (prnd12) . I can no longer tell what gear I am in with out feeling for it. the operation of the transmission is unaffected .is this an easy fix or is a trip to the dealer necessary. any information would be appreciated...thank you!

Howdy and welcome!

Undo your fuse panel cover and look up at the column. See if the indicator string has broken, or the tube that holds it from the shifter.

your right on the money adrianspeeder the plastic holder supporting the cable assembly broke during the latest cold snap .. I will call the ford dealer and order the small plastic assembly holder... thanks for the info, I appreciate it!! clamman....

Up under the column The little gear shift selector adjustment wheel broke on mine so i couldnt tell what gear it was in. Zip tied it back into place about 3 months ago and has worked since
