Trans Shutter / ford trans service ????
My 97 150 4.6 has a bit of the trans shutter
when it is upshifting. I was told the ford
trans service might help by using ATF
with friction additives. I thought they
would use Mercon V, and include a
full flush.
My bill says
6 ATF Valvoline Maxlife
1 F6AZ*7A098*A Screen ASY
What kind of service was done??????

They dropped the pan and replaced the fluid in the pan. That changes about half of the fluid in the trans. It was a waste of money in my opinion.
Now you should take it somewhere that can do a fluid exchange, also called a flush. That will change all of the fluid, which is what is needed to fix a shudder problem.
