2000 EXpy.Trans Type?

Hi,
I have a 2000 Ford Expedition and I cant tell if I have a 4r70w or 4r100(or some other type).
It is also Canadian Built so i am not sure what it has at all. Any info would help. Thanks

It must be a home built custom truck. Ford only has one plant that makes Expeditions. It's the Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, MI.

On the blue tag in the driver's door is a column marked TRANS. There will be either an "E" or a "U" under that. "E" means 4R100, "U" means 4R70W. Those were the only two possibilties for Ford built Expeditions in 2000.

Ford made the expedition in the USA,Canada and Mexico. It is not a home built truck. There was no blue tag on mine on the vehicle spec sticker it had a Line of options. One was TR and it had E under it. SO Im assuming that Canadian EXpys come with the better of the two transmissions. Thanks for all of you help.

Ford never built any Expeditions in Canada or Mexico.

Look at your VIN. If it starts with a 1 it was built in the US. 2 means Canada, and 3 means Mexico.
