Well heres my options , my truck is in the tranny shop and they want $2900 for a rebuild, i cant afford that , right now im having trouble getting into 1st gear and 3rd is hanging way up in the air, i told him id get back to him tomorrow , i already own the guy 330$ just for pulling the tranny out , i found the same year make model of truck with the same trans in it, i belive its the m5od, i can get this trans for 90$ plus a 20 core charge , the drive shaft is already unhooked, iv never pulled one of these as i got to pull it my self if i want it , how hard is it to get out from under there and how many bolts am i looking at to take it off, if i decide to take it do i pull it away from the motor or pull up on it , i sure dont want to pay what this guy is asking , my truck is not worth that much. What tools will i need. thanks a bunch . Jr
Get a shop manual as it will go into detail as to what to do.
A quick run down:
Disconnect battery neg terminal
Remove gear shift lever. Remove the boot. Remove the nut on the pinch bolt and place it on the opposite end and tighten. Remove the bolt and pull ip on lever. Remove the shift lever housing. Disconnect back up light connector. Remove drive shaft. Disconnect the hydraulic hose to the slave. Remove the rear tranny mount. Remove the tranny cross member. Remove transmission to engine bolts and starter. Pull tranny back till input shaft clears clutch and then lower it away.

There is a quick disconnect fitting at the slave cylinder. it should be on the driver side of the bellhousing. In the picture below it shows one that is disconnected. The fittings must be pulled apart The white collar must be pushed into the connector to release the clips. Using two flat screwdrivers, one on each side, you push the collar in towards the transmission. This will release the clips and you then pull the fitting off.

Well sucsess at the wrekers, i got my trans , me and my dad. The vehicle it was in was a 94 f150 that got broadsided and wrote off im assuming , it did put up a fight trying to pull it out but a couple of crow bars and it came out nice, i also took the clutch but i think its worn down, the hydraulic hose was abit of a pita but managed thanks to the flat headed screw driver, other than that im happy and hoping that this 1 will last me awhile and wont have to look forward to paying a ridiculous amount of $$$ for a rebuild. heres some pics of it.

What GLC wrote. By all means replace the slave. You have the old style on the tranny in the picture. It is prone to leaking. There is an improved version with a rubber boot that keeps a lot of the crap off the cylinder. Just make sure that you get the release bearing with it.
