Ford knows about trans trouble?
Seems like there are lots of past threads about driveline shake from the trans. I searched for Tech. Service bulletins and there seem to be several covering this issue. Curious if anyone has access to see what the solutions are from Ford. I have 97 4X4 extended, off road, tow package with a 1 year old 4.6 installed by dealer. There were 3 bulletins pertaining to my truck and I have these problems; trans leak, driveline shake, drivers window rolling down. Drive shake is my biggest concern. Shake starts at about 55 mph and stops around 65. Put the truck in neutral, no shake, let off the gas, no shake. Take it out of o-drive and still shakes. Only shakes while accelerating ,even slight acceleration. Rotated, balanced tires. New u-joints, had drive shaft checked. It is straight and balanced. Shake may be better described as a growl. Will do the lube the driveshaft splines but looks like this isnt the answer. Anyone have access to the TSB? Trans leak is not the tailshaft seal, or pan gasket. Where else do I look?

Some 1997-2006 E-Series, 1999-2006 F-Super Duty, 1997-2003 F-150 and 2004 F-150 Heritage 4x2 vehicles may exhibit a driveline clunk or bump that occurs as the vehicle starts to move forward, following a stop. This condition may be caused by the slip yoke not sliding smoothly on the output shaft splines.
ACTION:
Lubricate the slip yoke with Motorcraft PTFE Lubricant. Refer to the following Service Procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Verify the condition.
Remove the driveshaft per Workshop Manual Section 205-01. Be sure to index-mark the driveshaft during removal to maintain alignment during reinstallation.
Lubricate the slip yoke with 7-13 grams (0.25-0.46 oz.) of Motorcraft PTFE Lubricant.
Re-index and reinstall the driveshaft per Workshop Manual.
Verify the repair.

Some vehicles may exhibit an axle whine or hum during acceleration, deceleration and/or cruise.
ACTION:
An axle repair kit has been developed which incorporates most parts required for a comprehensive axle repair. The kit should be used instead of installing a complete axle assembly to repair an axle whine/hum. Replace Ring and Pinion with Axle Kit and Components.
NOTE: REFER TO THE "DIFFERENTIAL RING AND PINION" IN-VEHICLE REPAIR PROCEDURE IN THE ONLINE WORKSHOP MANUAL SECTION 205-00, FOR THE LATEST AXLE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.
NOTE: FOR 1999 AND PRIOR MODEL YEAR VEHICLES, USE THE 2000 MODEL YEAR WORKSHOP MANUAL.
NOTE: WHEN SERVICING THE REAR AXLE ON ANY 2002-2004 F-150, EXPEDITION, NAVIGATOR, EXPLORER OR MOUNTAINEER BUILT BEFORE 3/30/2004, IF FLUID REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED, REPLACE THE ORIGINAL FUEL EFFICIENT HIGH PERFORMANCE (FEHP) SAE 75W-90 REAR AXLE LUBRICANT WITH SAE 75W-140 HIGH PERFORMANCE SYNTHETIC REAR AXLE LUBRICANT. WHEN THE FLUID TYPE IS CHANGED, REPLACE THE CURRENT "FEHP" METAL TAG WITH A NEW "75W-140" TAG (F3TZ-4121-AA). IN ADDITION, REMOVE OR BLOCK-OUT THE FEHP REFERENCE ON THE MULTI-COLORED LABEL LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE AXLE TUBE. IF THE AXLE IS A LIMITED-SLIP MODEL, USE XL3 ADDITIVE FRICTION MODIFIER IN THE QUANTITY RECOMMENDED BY THE WORKSHOP MANUAL.

Thanks for the info. I have heard of the axle problems and local dealer has swapped out an axle for a coworker. Almost 100 percent sure it is trans. I have found two other TSB's Not sure if my number is correct 0193 trans leak/vibration and 4631 or 98-4725 vibration at 50+ mph. Mind looking for these?
These are the two I found. I didnt think the numbers for the TSB made since either. Thanks for your help.

ISSUE:
A cab/body bounce at highway speeds may be felt on some vehicles. This may be caused by road input (e.g., segmented concrete roads) that causes the cab/body to bounce rhythmically fore & aft at highway speeds.
ACTION:
Install a rear bumper damper assembly. The damper assembly should reduce the possibility of vibration. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Road test to verify condition is unique to road input (e.g., segmented concrete roads). If condition is caused by road input, install a rear bumper damper assembly as described in the following steps.
Disconnect license plate lamps and trailer tow connector, if equipped.
Remove the rear bumper nuts and carefully remove the bumper. Place bumper on a protected surface with the studs facing up.
Install rear bumper Damper (F85Z-17E834-AA) onto bumper studs with damper assembly cables facing up.
Apply Stud and Bearing Mount (EOAZ-19554-BA, or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G349-A1) onto the studs.
Disconnect license plate lamp wiring harness from pickup box flange by pulling the push connector.
Reinstall bumper with damper assembly onto the support brackets.
Loosely attach new Nuts (N804525-S427) onto the studs.
Route both license plate lamps wiring between damper ends and top lip of bumper, and permanently position using tape or tie strap. Be sure to route and secure the wiring away from the moving portion of the damper.
Torque the bumper nuts to 136 Lb-ft (100 N-m).
Verify service.
