how do i, test my clutch?

at idle put it in 5th with the parking brake on slowly let out on the clutch, it should kill the engine. If it doesnt, the clutch is slipping too much.

That's how I spent my weekend. Slave cylinder blew and I just threw a clutch in at the same time. Don't want to do that again anytime soon.
