Anyone know if it is possible to put the new Expedition 6-speed (6R60 I think) into an F150? Or is there any other trannies with more than 4 speeds which can be reasonably worked in under the truck?

 

With enough research, effort, and money anything is possible.

By adding those three words the answer must be no. It would be VERY expensive to change the type of trans in your truck. All transmissions are electronically controlled. Getting a different trans mounted is easy. Getting the computers to all work and shift correctly is going to take many, many thousands of dollars.

 

Yea that's sort of what I was getting at Mark. Sounds like it would be a pipe dream or like dirty said, lots of money, to get a high performance tranny swapped in. Thanks

 

Yup, been brought up a few times in the past in this very section. Computer issue is the biggest problem.
