tranny behavoir when shift indicator in 2nd
I was working on my dyno data for Troyer, ran my runs in 2nd gear on my automatic equipped 2003 FX4. My truck took off slower than normal and never seemed to shift from 1st to 2nd. It is as if putting the shift indicator in 2nd actually locked it in 2nd with no 1st gear taking off from a stop. However, it breathed good and got up to speed good. Was doing 80 to 85 mph whilst in 2nd. And yes, I am sure that was NOT a good idea to run it that high but all held together just fine. No DTCs.
Does this shift behavior seem normal? I put the shift indicator in 3rd, and it shifted up ok into 3rd and immediately into OD. When I came to a stop and took off with the shift indicator in D(3rd) and the OD option ON, the truck felt as if it was taking off in 1st like it should. This was repeatable every time. I just assumed that if the shift indicator on the column was in 2nd that I would still at least have 1st. Just curious.
This might have something to do with the baseline tune I am running from Troyer that I am getting dyno data for in the first place.

Cool, was just curious.
The way my engine reved up during my dyno runs, it made me wish even more that I had a 6-sp manual. Geesh this engine can run if allowed to breathe.
