strange 2-3 shift on light acceleration

I did a quick search and apologize if this has been covered... I have an '07 Screw with the 5.4, 3.73 gears with about 4000 miles on the truck. One thing I have noticed is that if you leave a stop at slower than normal launch and acceleration (school zone), then you are holding at about 25 - 30 mph the truck seems to downshift from 2nd to first then upshift into 3rd.
I will take it into the dealer to look at but before I do, I thought I would check to see if this is "normal" behavior an others have noticed the same thing. Other than that, great truck so far and there does not seem to be any other types of transmission problems.
Thanks!

If the o/d lite isn't flashing, I would say it is normal. Probably the convertor locking and unlocking is what you are feeling, but best to take to the dealer to be check out.

Just to follow up, i took it in and was able to recreate it for them (usually the challenge) and they will let me know what Ford says.
It is only when you hold it at 25 mph for 30 seconds at a steady speed after a slow steady accelleration. It is in 3rd gear but seems to downshift to 2nd then goes back to 3rd.
We'll see what they say. Anyone wanna bet they say it's normal?

There are, should I say, sweet spots where the trans can't seem to figure what gear to be in. If you are lightly accel. then level off, the load and rpms change, the processor is going "to much load for 3, but to many r's for 2" and it hunts. So yes, their is no problem, just the way it is.

Ya, just one of those "dead zones" in the transmission range. It's a speed that's not commonly driven at for extended times, so the tranny can't decide where to go. If it gets annoying, just shift to 2 or something until you speed up.

Thanks for the info! I didn't think there was anything really wrong as there are no other problems but hoped there was something that could be done. I'l get used to it easily enough. Still very happy with my purchase.
