Can't find tranny specs: 97 2wd f150

I have a 1997 F150 2WD with a 4.6, tranny code U. Tranny blew up. So I went to a junk yard and bought a tranny with 34k miles on it. Gave them the specs. Picked it up and all looked fine. After taking the old one out and comparing it to the "new" one I noticed that the drive position sensor has a different plug type. I looked at the tag and I noticed the new has a PKF-W as compared the old PKF-G1. Does anyone know if I can just change out the sensor. All of the other plugs match up fine. Even if I can I would like to know the difference between the two trannys.
The only place I found that listed them is:

http://www.victorytransmission.com

But no description. ARRGGGHHHH!!

If any one can help, I'd appreciate it!

That's the MLPS/DTR and you should use the revised style since the older one had water intrusion problems. This shows the BAD kind - use the OTHER one.

It's possible that I posted the TSB about that in this thread, but I've posted so many that I can't remember.
