I have no idea how the truck was treated before I bought it. Got an amazing deal for the truck from a car dealer and couldnt pass it up. The truck has 120k miles if that gives some information.
I also know nothing about transmissions. What does a accumulator do?...You say look at it before anything but what is it suppose to look like?
thanks for your reply...appreciate it.

No prob - heres a close up of the accumulator valve body w/ accumulaters - see that anodized gold stub w/nut attached - that screwed into the piston? Good , the actuall accumulator valve body is to the left of that , you can see the accumulater chambers thru the side-
Here's a pic of all valve bodies assembled (my trans was in a million pieces at one time)
This is the calibration plate that controls the accumulator valve body - this one 's a bad one , I made another (that was fun) anyway it controls flow to your accumulators and the way your trans shifts (I have the gears marked)..
Well, good luck!!

thanks for the clarification.
I dont think I'll be handling the job myself...if I had some of my friends help, then I may take on the job. But Im just not comfortable tearing into my tranny. I was going to call my tranny guy and ask what it'll cost for him to repair it because it may be better to just buy a remanufactured tranny if the repair costs alot.
But who knows, I may just take on the job and itll be a learning experience, haha.
One more question,
Do you know any websites or companies that I can buy a rebuild kit from?

In that case heres what I would do depending on how much I had to spend.
The only reman trans I would trust is from Jasper because of there 36 month guarentee , but that's even debatable -

Rebuild kits you can get on ebay.
I would try here first - type in your zip and they find one for you close to home - a used one w/low miles would be my first choice if one can be had -
