4r75E or 4L65E

I have the 4r75E in my 05 and the new Chevys are suposed to have thr 4L65E with the 5.3L. I was just wondering how the our tranny stacks up againist the Chevy's? And on the tital I meant "vs" not "or".

Without knowing anything about the reliability, longevity, or gearing of the GM product, I'd say that the Ford tranny is stronger. IIRC, the "75" in 4r75E or the "65" in 4L65e represents the torque-handling capability of the tranny... So the Ford is designed to handle up to 750 ft-lbs, and the GM is designed to handle up to 650 ft-lbs... Thus the reason that the 4r100 (1000 ft-lbs) was used on SD's and Lightings... So all other things being equal, the Ford should be a stronger unit.
