VSS gear question

VSS gear question

running 35in tires 4:10 gears and the 4.6 on my 97 f150 does anyone know the correct color vss gear i should be running to correct the speedometer

I do not know which color. I do know that your speedo should be about 5% too fast based on 29" stock to 35" tires and 3.55 stock to 4.10 gears. If you have a buddy with a GPS you can take a drive and check the mileage to better determine the error. Assuming 5% is correct then count the teeth on the gear you have (should be 20) take it to Ford and ask for a VSS gear with 21 teeth (20 x 1.05 = 21). I doubt you will find one and I think they only made 3 gears 19,20,21 so more than 5% error and you will need something else. Here is the "Yellow Box" option http://www.blackrobotics.com/ Good luck
