93 F-150 Transmission problem?
Folks,
My 93 F-150, 4WD, 5.0 liter, auto transmission is having some shifting problems. It shifts better with the OD off however, my OD light in the shifter no longer illuminates and I suspect it is randomly turning itself back on. Also, it frequently shifts very hard in the lower gears and when on an incline it seems to have troubles deciding if it should shift or not. The truck more or less starts sputtering almost like it is miss-firing or like it is stuck between shifts. Accelerating smoothly but somewhat hard usually results in the truck "waking" up so to speak and coming out of its confusion. Any ideas on what my problem might be? Sound like a sensor? transmission? something else? Thanks in advance. Hoping someone has been through this (sorry) and can help.
