How do I know what gears my truck has?

This is somewhat related to the Diablosport Predator, but how do I know what gear ratio my truck is using? I have an 04 S/C 4.6L F150. Is there somewhere on the truck I can tell?

Look in the Transmission Sticky at the top of this page. All trannys are listed, and most listed also give gear ratios.

The trannys have their ratios listed, but I think he is wanting his axle ratios.

If so, post the axle code on your door jam sticker.

a really easy way is to crawl under the rear of your truck and look at the axle tags (if they are still there) if there are two one will tell what fluid to use the other will show the gear ratio. for example the tag on my 06 reads 3L73. the L is for limited slip. hope that helps
