Does te grease and dowl method work with the needle bearing to remove it?

for me it didn't.
i rented a pilot bearing puller. it swedges into the bearing then a slide hammer pulls it right out. it took like 2 minutes.
most auto part stores rent them for free. just pay the deposit and then get it back when you return it.
