93 Lightning

Ok, i have a 93 lightning. It has 125k miles and the tranny fluid has never been changed. Ive been reading alot about the tranny and i believe it has an E40D transmission and they seem to have a decent record as far as breakign down. Anyways my truck seems like its slipping or something, when i put it into drive it has trouble actually gettign into gear or when it does it barely moves. About a month ago i took it on a trip and ended up ditching it till i could pick it up because i didnt want to risk causing any further damage after i noticed it having trouble moving. Reverse works perfect its just drive. Could a fluid flush fix this issue maybe or you think it may need to be rebuilt? cheapest ive seen this tranny for a already rebuilt was liek 900 bucks.

Also anyone have a place on the net i could go for instructions on rebuilding it? I would liek to give it a try and possibly waste my money on it i dont mind. but would like to do that before i buy a new tranny all together.
