3rd to 4th shift 97 E40D

Hello, some time ago I posted a thread about my short shifting E40D. When entering the freeway, it shifts from 3rd to 4th in less than a second. Almost simultaneously. It is driving me nuts! I have no caution lights whatsoever. I took it to a transmission shop, and it has no codes to speak of. I have checked the TPS, and it is right on, with no dead spots. Looked at the VSS, no problems there. Took out the ABS Sensor on the rear axle, and it appears fine. I would get an ABS light there, anyway. If accelerating slowly, it will stay in 3rd all day long, and if I tromp on it after going into 3rd, it will stay there and pull all the way up, like it should. This leads me to believe that it may be an incorrectly written script, or corrupted script, on the pcu. Is it possible to have a Ford dealer "flash" the script? I have heard so. Any help would be appreciated. I am about to trade this sucker in on a new one!

From: Georgia on my mind...
My '97 E4OD dumps into 4th really quick too. I never really let it bother me. There may be an updated PCM calibration available, but a lot of Fords I've driven all seem to go into 4th really quick, dunno why.
