Recommendations for a deep oil pan?

It appears as though I'm about to attempt to replace the 1-2 actuator spring in my tranny. I figure I might as well replace the stock oil pan w/ a deep oil pan with a drain plug.

I see that several of you went w/ the B&M. Are their any others out there that I should consider? Any to stay away from? What is the price range? Are their any reccomendations of where to purchase from? And will I need to get an extension for the filter?

Any and all help is appreicated

I have a MAC deep alum pan.
I don't know about other models but on an 02 SCREW I had to remove about an 1/8" across the back rail and make some clearence and on the inside edge to get the pan to valve body clearence to get the pan to clear that area because of an exhaust mount included with the trans mount that took up to much room to get the pan on without the surgery.
You might have a better time of it with your truck but I can't see how a different pan would be much different in shape and thickness.
Also the cross member will give a hard time getting allen socket up behind to tighten the rear bolts so use 1/4" drive if possible.
Good luck, it can be done.

$118.50 from Bren Speed shop. Order the 4.6 pan for a Mustang.
If you want a temp sensor in the pan, drill and tap for the size bushing you need then either put a plug in or mount the sensor when you change the pan
The drain plug is already in..

Yep, looks like that under my '03 Supecrew FX4, too. Looks a bitch to swap out. I'm still deciding.

I got a TCI, which is much like a B&M. It gave me 2 extra quarts, is finned, aluminum, and has a drain plug. I screwed up my original pan by overtightening the welded plug in and stripped the bolt. It's fixed now, cost 250 cdn, at the time was lots less in usd$.

I ordered the MAC pan today - but I had to pay an extra ~$7 for tax, since they are located in Indiana.

Thanks for the replies!
