Don't you still have warrenty on that truck?
It sounds like a trans problem from what little info you gave.

yes

i still have the warranty, i took it to the ford garage where i bought it and they said they couldn't mimic the problem. i wish i had a better way to explain the problem. it's like a thunk, thunk, thunk as i'm taking off, but that the only time it does it. the truck shifts through all the gears just fine, it is just the take off that is the problem.

Find a condition that you can duplicate repeatedly.

Take the mechanic (preferable) or the service advisor for a test drive and show them the issue.

For a mechanic, nothing beats being able to witness the fault firsthand. Often, they're stuck trying to duplicate a fault described by a non-technical customer to a service adviser who may or may not understand the issue and may or may not have the necessary skills to give the mechanic an accurate picture of what needs looked at.

Isn't that the truth.
I just went to my warrenty dealer with a known trans problem but because it ran perfect and had no codes they would not even entertain the thoughts until failure lets me set along the road. I did read a trans code then cleared it as intermittant but that was not good enough for them.
I even showed them a sample of the metal off the magnet.
This is how it turned out; I went to a specialty shop and showed them the metal. Within 15 seconds they knew it was from the Torrington flat bearings and related parts due to the converter balloning.
I had them custom build for me and has shown to be all they said it would be and do and I paid for it knowing another stock rebuild would do the same all over again in time.
This is the bind you get into with dealer position and Ford's way of handling problems.
My advice is keep going back until they see the fault.
